Windows and resets

Planned capability

This page describes a proposed management contract, not a setup procedure. Current request behavior is documented in the Gateway API reference.

Proposed window types

The planned contract would define hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, custom and lifetime budgets. Each window would have an explicit boundary, timezone, reset rule and carryover policy. Calendar and rolling periods would be separate choices.

Proposed stacking

Several windows could apply to the same scope. Admission would need to evaluate every applicable limit and define precedence, concurrent reservations and unsettled usage. A reporting date range would not establish a reset schedule.

Current configuration is described in budget windows. Do not assume a reset on the first from a monthly chart.
