Connect Granola to Cortex

Sync meetings from shared Granola spaces through a workspace API key.

Workplace connections

Granola

Content and access

Meetings in shared Granola spaces: the Team space and spaces with Granola API access turned on. Private notes never sync.

Before you begin

Required

  • Cortex organization admin

An admin connects this app for the Cortex organization. Grant access only to content appropriate for the whole organization.

  • Granola plan

Use a Granola Business or Enterprise plan.

  • Granola workspace admin

A workspace admin must create the workspace API key.

Set up Granola

  1. In the Granola desktop app, open Settings → Connectors → Workspace API keys and select Create new key. Only workspace admins can create workspace API keys.
  2. Copy the key.
  3. In Cortex, open Organization → Apps, select Add connection, and choose Granola under Source. Paste the key into Workspace API key.
  4. Select Connect. Then open the connection's Manage menu and select Test & preview. The preview shows how many folders the key can read and a sample of shared meetings.

You can also connect Granola in the Connect apps step of onboarding.

Granola scope and limits

Each read-only connection covers one Granola workspace. Cortex reads only meetings in shared spaces: the Team space, and spaces where Granola API access is on. To share an existing space, a Granola admin opens the space, selects Integrations → Granola API, and switches on Allow access with a workspace API key. A workspace API key cannot read private notes, so they never reach Cortex.

For each meeting, Cortex stores its title, AI summary, transcript, attendees, folders, and a link back to Granola. The first sync brings in the full history of shared meetings, then changes sync about every hour. Meetings removed from shared spaces, or deleted in Granola, are removed from Cortex at the next sync.

Granola turns on Allow Granola API access by default when a space is created, so meetings in a new space sync to Cortex. Turn it off when you create a space whose meetings should stay out of Cortex.

Manage this connection

After changing space access in Granola, return to Organization → Apps and run Test & preview. A preview is a limited sample of accessible content.

To replace the key, select Edit connection. Revoking the connection removes its synced meetings from Cortex.

See the shared connection management guide for credential updates, reauthorization, and revocation.
